Theology
BA / BSc Joint Honours
Full time: 3 years Part time: 4 years
Over the three years of this course you will gain an understanding of the major religious, cultural and philosophical traditions which have shaped our history and our present. You will examine issues such as the nature of faith and the relationship between the world’s religions, and consider important questions about life and death, morality, and the interaction of religion and society.
The Theology major and joint courses offered cover all the key aspects of this wide subject area, including Philosophy of Religion, World Faiths and Theological methods and skills. The courses allow for great flexibility, so you can choose to specialise in one area of Theology (e.g. Christian Theology or Philosophy of Religion) more than the others. The department’s particular expertise lies in the areas of Christian Theology and Biblical Studies.
Other available subjects as part of a Joint Honours BA are: Philosophy, Religion and Ethics; Philosophy and Theology; and Religious Education (available only as a minor subject) Click here for more information.
