Association of University Lecturers in Religion and Education (UK)

AULRE is concerned with all aspects of the interface of religion and education, including: links between the academic study of religion and religious education; religious education in schools; learning and teaching in theology and religious studies in colleges and universities; the professional development of teachers of religious education; religious development in faith communities; and the enhancement of public knowledge and understanding of religion and religious education.

The objectives of the Association are: to facilitate communication between members; to support the development and dissemination of research at the interface of religion and education; to contribute to local and national education policy and practice; to establish and maintain contacts with appropriate national and international academic bodies.

This organisation is a member of the RE Council.
