Shap - The Working Party on Religions in Education

The Shap Working Party was set up in 1969 to encourage the study and teaching of religions. For many years Shap ran conferences, produced books and an annual journal, and published the first annual calendar of religious festivals. Currently the annual calendar, now published electronically, is the main focus of Shap's work. Shap's website gives access to a glossary of religious terminology and also gives access to a free advice service for anyone - but mainly teachers and students - with questions about aspects of individual religions or related matters.

This organisation is a member of the RE Council.
